DIFERAL

The DIFERAL Project (Project Number: KA220-SCH-C8351642) is an Erasmus+ initiative dedicated to enhancing environmental education through differentiated instruction. By developing a comprehensive Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and integrating a micro-credentialing system, DIFERAL aims to equip educators with the tools and knowledge necessary to address diverse learning needs in environmental topics.

Our Mission: DIFERAL seeks to revolutionize environmental education by providing educators with advanced training in differentiated instruction. The project focuses on creating accessible, high-quality educational resources that cater to various learning styles, promoting inclusivity and effective teaching practices in environmental education.

Objectives:

  • Develop a MOOC on Differentiated Instruction for the Environment: Offer comprehensive training tailored to environmental education, enabling educators to implement differentiated instruction strategies effectively.
  • Incorporate Micro-credentials, Quizzes, and Puzzles: Integrate interactive elements and a micro-credentialing system to enhance learner engagement and provide recognized certification for professional development.
  • Engage Educators and Students: Involve educators and students in creating and utilizing educational materials, fostering active participation and practical application of differentiated instruction in environmental topics.
  • Deliver the MOOC to a Broad Audience: Ensure the MOOC is accessible to teachers and trainers across the education sector, providing a flexible learning platform to enhance their skills.
  • Evaluate MOOC Impact: Assess the effectiveness of the MOOC in improving educators’ competencies, informing continuous improvement and alignment with educators’ needs.

Roles and Collaborations:

  • Oloklirosi: Leads the coordination of the MOOC’s development and delivery, ensuring content accuracy and alignment with educational objectives.
  • CSCI: As the technical lead, develops the MOOC platform, manages the integration of the micro-credentialing system, and oversees the Italian translation of the MOOC.
  • SYKLI Environmental College: Provides expertise in environmental education and sustainable development, contributes to course material, and leads the evaluation and Finnish translation of the MOOC.
  • Eco Logic: Offers insights into modern ecological practices and sustainability, contributing to course content and translating the MOOC into Macedonian.
  • Zespol Szkol nr 1 w Suwalkach: Provides input on bilingual education and teaching methodologies, facilitates participation in events, and translates the MOOC into Polish.
  • 7th General Lyceum of Heraklion: Promotes the MOOC within their network, aids in participant recruitment, and translates the MOOC into Greek.

This collaborative effort ensures a comprehensive and multifaceted approach to enhancing environmental education through differentiated instruction.
