The Cultural Diversity in Class: Inclusion & Integration course equips teachers and education staff with practical
strategies to address cultural diversity in the classroom. Through interactive activities, case studies, and peer
exchange, participants enhance their cultural awareness, strengthen inclusive teaching approaches, and
develop skills to foster collaboration, empathy, and effective communication in multicultural learning
environments.
Purpose
The purpose of the Cultural Diversity in Class: Inclusion & Integration course is to support educators in
developing inclusive, culturally sensitive teaching practices that promote equal participation, positive
relationships, and academic motivation for all students, regardless of their cultural or social background.

During the course, participants will review the most appropriate strategies to tackle the challenge of cultural
diversity and provide the same possibilities to all students regardless of origins and sociocultural
backgrounds by:

  • Developing a culturally sensitive perspective.
    Getting sensitized about cross-cultural differences and their impact at school.
  • Learning about how to create an inclusive classroom.
    Reflecting on how to apply their cultural knowledge in their teaching approach.
  • Improving their social awareness on diversity issues.
  • Developing applicable skills and techniques that can be used to establish positive relationships with
    students.
  • Apprehending the ever-changing cultural / psychological / social diversity of students to help fostering
    an academically motivating environment.
  • Exchanging good practices and sharing experiences about cultural diversity with teachers and education
    staff experienced in the issue.

Plus:

  • Participants will have the opportunity to discuss practices with colleagues from a nearby school located
    in a multicultural neighbourhood.
  • Participants will visit sites, museums, monuments etc. and planned activities.

  • Note: Participants must have at least a CEFR level B2 knowledge of English in order to be able to participate actively.

  • Teachers working in kindergartens, primary schools, lower secondary schools, and adult education training centers

  • Lectures, group work, hands-on workshops, case studies, study visits, and excursions.
  • Tools: Canva, MindMeister, SDG resources, vulnerability mapping tools, geospatial data, project design templates, and collaborative platforms.
